Telkom 4mb WIFI issue

Hi all,

For some reason, whenever someone connects to our wifi even if it is JUST for whatsapp use I experience HEAVY lag and delay. In-game my ping will peak from 30ms to 300ms-400ms. This only happens when someone is connected to wifi not even using any bandwidth. This includes cellphones, laptops, tablets....anything wifi related.

Afaik, it cant be the router for I have 2 routers in the house, one which acts as a repeater and hub.

Any ideas?

Soon this might not be an issue anymore, cause I am going to switch ISP to Amobia, which i have been with for a year last year and never ever EVER had any issues with them, and great support. Was never throttled or shaped even if i did go over the limit with my uncapped limit.

Anyway any ideas on the wifi issue?

Amobia did a site survey for my place, and planning to join them, I really need your feedback and you experience with them. I will be using the internet mainly for live TV streaming, and general browsing.

No problem, I was at the Buh-Rein estate, where they had dedicated fiber lines etc, had a 5mb uncapped bundle.

We were 3 people using the internet, gaming, streaming, downloading, uploading normal browsing all in one. Never had any latency issues even if the weather was bad. In June this year he used a total of 360GB.

I downloaded a 41 gig file in one night. That same night my room mate downloaded 2 games each of 35gb. downloads were completed in 2 days. Downloaded 21 full HD movies in one weekend. HOWEVER, sometimes we are heavily throttled on torrents, but other times we wont be. Non the less, every other thing we did on the internet had zero impact on my fellow internet users. They stream HD videos on youtube while im in a serious competition match, and I dont even notice.

They do have EXCELLENT customer service, they will always answer and if they are in peak times they will always phone back, leave a message asking when you are available again etc.

Your downstream and upstream will be exactly the same, My speed test showed 5.3MB Download / 4.8MB Upload.

One thing though, if you are a gamer, they dont have all IP's on their server list and you will need to contact them to add it to your line. This is just a quick phone call, some instructions to follow on your pc and a day later you have excellent connectivity to your game requested, sometimes it was instant after the call.

Their priority list are as follow:

P1: Skype/Gaming
P2: Browsing/streaming
P3: Torrents

I would really recommend Amobia!
