Hi.

I've moved house a couple of months back got told by telkom that my area does not support the up to 4mbps service, so i never did the adsl thing, now i'm moving house again and want to work the 4mbps service into my house hunting plans.

Is there a way or website to check if a area supports the up to 4mbs service?

You need the telephone number of a neighbor, and then the best option is to call Telkom and ask them is a port is available on that exchange.
They do have a web service that can tell you if the exchange supports ADSL, but it can not tell you if a port is available, so it's not all that useful.

Here's the website to check, but as above to still need to phone to see if there are available ports...
