I have issue with various sites not loading first time. Also issues with Facebook videos stalling at about the 5 second mark. They will run if I revisit the video.

My line is good, with zero errors. Using D-Link 2750U with latest firmware installed.

Yet Netflix and Apple streaming seems unaffected.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem with FB - also 4meg but capped. Everything else works perfectly fine but annoyingly FB videos are dog slow... Low priority perhaps...?

What happens if you use another PC on your network or boot up from linux livecd?

Sounds like a local issue.

I've tried testing the FB video playback on both my tablet & phone and still have the same issue... Time of day does sometimes seem to play a role as well, almost convinced Telkom is negatively prioritizing social media feeds.

Other windows PC's (W10 and Win7) on my network seem to experience similar. ITunes sometimes reports that the iTunes store is offline or IOS apps updates seem to fail to download. I have been experimenting with a Raspeberry PI and that has shown one or two occasions of not being able to connect to the internet.

My network consists of a primary D-link 2750 connected to ADSL. DNS is automatic. DHCP enabled with a range 10.0.0.3 to 10.0.0.100. A second D-link 2750 (10.0.0.102) connected via cat 5 to the primary router in bridge mode, to provide connectivity for my media devices. DNS disabled, DHCP disabled and also provides a second wifi network.

I am wondering if my network could be the issue?

The saga continues.

Whilst browsing on Chrome, a brief screen flash mentioned a DNS problem. I didn't get any error codes. At that moment I had no internet but my router showed sync and PPP OK. So I guess if you have no DNS, you effectively have no internet.

Back to the router then and my setting for DNS are auto. I went to the saix.net website and found and ip for DNS servers for my area. I then put these settings into my router.

Well I don't want to say its fixed, but for the last 3 days or so, I have not had a repeat of the "no internet" fault, although facebook still has issues with videos not loading properly and stalling after about 8 seconds.

Comment welcome.
