Cancelling Telkom - AAGGHHH FU!!

So I currently have a telkom line and the ADSL portion with Afrihost. (They manage the ADSL line as well)

I want to cancel my ADSL and Telkom line on the 31st March - sounds simple enough.

Phone Telkom and after 40 mins of waiting they tell me I need to give 30 days notice...fine I say I"m giving you notice today!

Then they say I need to cancel my line with AH before they can cancel the phone line, but they still want their 30 days notice!

So does that mean I have to cancel my ADSL now, give Telkom their 30 fkn days notice and then they will cancel my phone line at the end of March? :mad::mad::mad: That's insane!!!

Just the man I want to speak to. I have a Telkom ADSL line and account as well. Telkom ISP. I want to change the ISP portion to AH, but I am not sure whether it is the wise thing to do. I see you want to get away from Telkom altogether. I therefore take it that Tekom still stuff-up the whole thing?

So how will you replace the Telkom line and will it then still be ADSL or wireless?

Off to the UK actually :)

Looks like if I want internet until the end March I need to get AH to transfer my line back to Telkom which will hopefully only take 2 or 3 days, and then at the end of Feb I can give Telkom notice to cancel at the end of March.

How backwards is that!
 
No Telkom Line available for 4 years

You lucky you can at least get a Telkom line - have been trying for 4 years

It's a shame that it's so complicated, I hope that you can get it sorted out.

I hope the UK treats you well :)
 
Now just not sure if I can transfer the line back to Telkom by the end Feb so that I can give them there 30 days and then still have the internet until end March.

Of if I cancel the line what options do I have - I must have internet during March. A pay as you go sim card option? :( Viable for a month?
