Telkom accounts help needed.

Hi.

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this but please help me out if you can.

A couple of years ago we had a month to month account with Telkom for ADSL at our old address. I had endless issues when they decided to start moving the debit order date around. Eventually we started getting disconnected because the debit order only got deducted after the disconnection.

I would have to phone them on a monthly basis to reconnect the line and explain the whole story over and over and over again. Each month they would disconnect us, I would phone and complain and they would reconnect us. The problem is that they started trying to charge us for the reconnection. Each time I refused to pay for the reconnection but it seems that they want us to now pay R2500 for an account we told them to close ages ago or we cannot apply for a new line at our new address.

I will still not pay for the supposed reconnection charges if the problem arose out of their own incompetence. Ideally I would like to see the old account closed and then our new application processed.

Does anybody have a contact that might be able to assist?

Have you logged a dispute with the accounts department? (and received a dispute reference number)

Alternatively just apply for the line on somebody elses ID number in your household.
 
I haven't logged a dispute yet as I'm still waiting on the call center guy to send me the email address of the accounts department. Doubt I'll ever see the mail address.

I was hoping somebody had a contact so that I can resolve this issue soonest.

Regarding using someone else's ID number, I'm the only employed person in our house so it will probably have to be my ID number.
 
Dial 10210 and choose accounts. They will open a dispute for you.

Alternatively create a login at Telkom.co.za and go to manage accounts page, select the number you wish to dispute, then scroll right to create a dispute.
