Some information regarding how telkoms billing works.

I have a 6 gig international and 30 gig local account with telkom.
Its happened a few times that they dnt cap us, and i go over the usage, but they never charge me for it, as it is there responsibility to cut me off.

Now last month, they capped me internationaly after 6 gigs, but i went over on the local usage, but they didnt cut me off. When the bill came, it was R700 more than it was supposed to be. We lodged a complaint about it,but they said something about them being able to charge us for over usage on local cap "im a bit fuzzy on the details here because it was my dad that spoke to them "

Now the same thing has happened this month, they havnt capped us yet internationaly this month, and we must be sitting about 40 gigs over the limit on international usage.

Now im ****ting myself if im gnna get charged for this because my dad is going to have a heart failure.

Does any1 know how this works ?
Thank you

They charge you R15 for each gig above your 30gig limit. So if you are 40gigs over that is an extra R600 on your bill.

Does that only apply to local cap though ? Last month we went over in local cap, but this month we are way over on international cap, but they just didnt cap us untill earlier this evening ?

how could you miss the big red writing warning about the r15 for every local gig you go over, when checking your usage? :)
anyway as for the blended.. well so far i havn't read from anyone being billed for going over that yet. but it should be noted they cover themselves in the t&c's quite well and reserve the right to bill you at the same cost as top-up. i would suggest you install something like netlimiter and monitor your own bandwidth usage too and not rely on just their tracker alone. and in future if it's happy time again, please don't be greedy and tempt bad luck; nevermind dad's heart... think of how sore your backside would be ;)

Haha, well the thing is its happened a few times that we have managed to go over on international cap and they havent billed us for it.
So the reason that i was worried was because they charged us last month for all the local cap.
I see now that they are allowed to do that, but as far as i can tell, they still cannot charge me for the international cap this month.

Sjoe !
