Telkom ADSL, a suggestion

Why does Telkom obfuscate its ADSL product with cutsie names?

ADSL fast means nothing in my life and I suspect in most client's lives!

Surely ADSL 2Mb would be a far more meaningful and useful name? Similar name changes can applied to all speed / volume products.
 
The same reason why car manufacturers have done away with the engine capacity denoting numbering on their cars, to pull a fast one past you the buyer.

If they put a number on it then users will be running to ASA saying they are not getting "2Mb". Globally ADSL is known as a "best effort" service so it is not wise to peg a number to a product.

Looking at https://secure.telkom.co.za/today/shop/home/plan/fast-adsl/ I see "Included in your box: Up to 2Mbps ADSL Line" appearing in a very prominent position on the web page.

Does this mean the ASA is overrun by complainants?
 
"Up to ****" is more like it.
Having a bit of a fight with them currently on my ADSL line, stable for over a year - even ran at 8mb for a month during that time - now after upgrades my line barely reaches 1.2, fluctuates between ADSL and ADSL2+ and loses sync totally without warning.

Sadly my contact at Telkom has left for greener pastures, so no more of that hey
