So I got a call from a Telkom Contact Centre.

Currently on TelkomISP 2Mbps Uncapped. month to month for R579 all in.

Now get offered an LTE Router on contract for R219 p/m x24 for uncapped at LTE speeds. But I have to keep my current R579 going as well for the deal.

The more I ask for an email on this promotion so I can read through the T&C's the more I get sidebarred on it and that its only available via the contact centre.
The typical "Too good to be true" notion runs through my mind.

The price point is ok for me and I may even be swayed into a contract (which I hate) - moreso coming from Telkom.
But I can't find any information about this online.

Anyone know of this?

@TelkomZA ?

Has it got anything to do with this?

I asked the lady on the phone if I'd be throttled on the LTE Router to 2Mpbs about 5 times and she assured that I'd not be and that I'd have full LTE speeds.
Which seems ridiculous to me from a business point.
I told her that the router is capable of those speeds, but I'd be suprised if I'd have full LTE speeds, uncapped for an additional R219.

She yet again assured me that it would be at full speeds, 68Mbps if I heard correctly.

I don't even know what my LTE coverage is like here at home.

/goes off to look

Good luck on getting @TelkomZA to answer...................seems to be non-existant

Ffs. This woman. Why and how does this work. Plug your Adsl line into the the new router and get full lte Speed? How. I've been thrashing it out that plugged into my dsl line, its impossible for it to increase my Speed to lte. Though she says it will be dragging off lte. Doesn't make sense.

I reckon, OK I'll give it a try with the 7 day cancellation thingy. But when we get to the summary of the product and its called lte 3gb I just about fscking lost it and told her to leave it and get lost before I got rude. .!.. Telkom.

She's untrained and punting lte wifi connectivity from the router as actual internet origin Speed from the exchange.

First its : no, all data is from the land line. Then its yes, its from the lte network.

And just found out that its mobiletalk that's an official reseller for telkom, not telkom itself.
