Sup,

I cancelled my WebAfrica complete package in March and moved my line to Telkom at the end of March-start of April. I had asked WebAfrica to do it for me when the account got cancelled. Im on 384k.

What i want to ask is whether Telkom charges extra or something for the line to be moved back to them cos there are weird amounts on my April bill which my mom paid without question. Theres a R455.24 for Rental and a R76.32 for usage. Anyone have any idea what these amounts are?

If you go to page 3, it will say something like:
Your telephone line datefrom dateto cost ....
DSL Fast datefrom dateto cost ...
Your telephone line datefrom dateto cost ....
DSL Fast datefrom dateto cost ...
IT-AllAccess datefrom dateto cost ...

i.e. The details

Cool. Thanks. Had another look. The above figures are fine. The weird one is the R524.83 general adjustment figure. Any idea what that is?

It seems to be an incorrect charge for transferring your line (check this thread).

When I moved my line to WA I also had a "General Adjustment" charge but for like R356. I phoned Telkom who said the charge was for the installation of an indoor extension - but I never had any indoor extension installed!

After being passed around to like three thousand and forty-five different departments finally someone in accounts queries (10219 I think) reversed the charge (or so they claim, I'm waiting for next statement).

Phone Telkom & get them to tell you exactly what it is for, then get it reversed.

I called that number and was directed to accounts. You were right. The amount was for line installation so the nice lady reversed it. Took about 15mins in total.
