How is it that Telkom can charge a separate "connection" charge for ADSL.
They are taking advantage of the public's ignorance.
Unfortunately Naked DSL doesn't exist here yet.
The voice and ADSL signals use the same physical copper cable pair that connects the home to the exchange or fibre cabinet in the street.
The voice and ADSL are connected to a DSLAM at the exchange that splits the voice & data.
We should not charged extra to be connected to the DSLAM and explains why Internet costs are so much more than other countries
