Telkom ADSL install cost

Damn... I phoned 10213 earlier this afternoon and the agent was adamant that the R782 ADSL install charge can't be waived.

Is there anything in print that advertises this special?

If you are month to month then you pay for installation.

If you take a 12 month contract they cover the installation


If you take a 24 month contract you get installation plus a router.

If you take month to month but you ad a telephone package for calls then they also cover installation.

I'm on month to month and did not pay any installation fees a few months ago. There is a monthly add-on that I took with (forgot what it was called) and if you do that you do not pay installation fees. You can cancel the add-on immediately afterwards, was only extra R18 or so a month but it was for voice so no need for it. Will see if I can find out what it's called

Edit: It's called Telkom Evening and Week-end Plan.

I applied online for a landline. Telkom phoned me back and she said i have to pay R700 installation cost or choose a voice package for R17 extra per month and get installation free. So i went with thw voice package.

When you order a landline do you need to state that it will be for adsl use? Or do you just get the line and get adsl from your service provider?

Get the ADSL line from Telkom as well. Then chose your data from any ISP you like. I recommend VOX.
