I had ADSL installed 8 weeks ago by Telkom. It worked for 3 weeks and suddenly stop 5 weeks ago, never to return. I logged the fault the next day, after the technician was at my house they informed me the problem was on the cable side and not on my property. I have phoned daily but get the same response from Telkom "they are attending to the matter".
On the installation day the Technician "Riaan" made a command that he is straggling to get the line connected but would just unplug someone else and plug me in. I am wondering if this is not what happened!!!

Is there anybody that can give me some advice who I can contact at Telkom.

You can give your fault references that you may have to the team on Twitter. They will follow up for you. Note, if you send more than one message, they will bump you up the queue and take longer to respond. Atleast that is what they said for their facebook users.

They should pass a credit if you also get the area fault reference.

Also check if your area fault is listed on the SAIX noticeboard.
