Telkom ADSL Line Installation - Query

Now, I know you need to pay R166 p/m for the telephone line rental etc etc, but this R584 installation fee for a new number and so on? Is there anything you can do about that, it's honestly the only thing holding me back from getting an uncapped 10mb line at home. The grey boxie is already there all I need is a new 021 number and it to be activated. Is Telkom really going to charge me the full amount or is there anything else I can do like a discount or something? I looked at the Simple Packages but I don't want to be locked in to a contract. Maybe a rep can help?
 
Check the Telkom promo's for one that offers a free installation.

Then haggle with the consultant and insist on a month to month contract!
 
Haha, yeah good one, but I don't think it will be that easy? Do you know anything about needing a filter for it? I am only one person but just want to save extra costs, not telephone, just ADSL + PC/ Internet (You get what I am trying to say.)

take one of the simple deals, you get the modem installation and the adsl filter free. no contract needed (but read somewhere you have to have telkom as you ISP for 3 months) i took the deal but haven't had any issues so stuck with telkom
 
Hmm, I am not sure, as AfriHost has a better deal that I want, I was moving to ADSL to be free from cap, not go back to it.

That's my only problem, I can't be without a 10mb as I make YouTube videos and stream with Twitch, 2mb or 4mb won't cut it.
