Has anyone heard any hint of what % the pricecut will be, or will it be more a "bundle your line rental with your adsl rental"?

in much of the world, the bundled line rental/adsl rental is one and the same. however, it's bundled line/adsl/isp for still considerably less than what we get here.

pignaayers.

hrm I'm hoping for 50% but I think maybe 25-30%. which will drop it to about R200 for a 192k line. lower is better. I wonder if thr price reductions is due to increase in userbase OR kinda forced my recent industry stress on them.

The "bundle" cr@p is with one aim in mind. Telkom may be forced to only charge one rental, so they now bundle the analogue with the ADSL so that they can charge the higher price. Afterall, if they have to drop one rental, rather the cheaper.

B@stards.

My Guess, R400 for 192kb, if it's anything like the price "cut" we had in November

LOL - R100 per week - so, "if like 90% of our users, you only use you ADSL one day a month, you will SAVE, SAVE, SAVE! Sorry, but if you abuse your ADSL by LEAVING IT ON ALL DAY. you will pay more."

I wonder if this was not just some spin in reaction to their share price dropping, or they are announcing the price cut whilst the share price is down, with the hope that it won't fall further. Who knows, it's Friday and I wanna go home to abuse my HomeADSL 192 internet access line by shooting truck loads of peeps dressed up as Telscum employees :p

More like R400 for 192 but will be hardcapping at 500k

What about raising the CAP!?

If anything I would prefer them to raise the cap to 10GB as suggested by us and ICASA!

I reckon its in response to the National communications bill awaiting approval, perhaps they trying to jump the gun, before everyone and anyone has a national network ...

Not trying to jump any gun really, Telkom and the Government are one and the same thing, joined at the hip, brutha's in arms, peas in a pod.
Telkom are privy to every bit of information well before it is released into the public domain.
Everything that Telkom does is reactive, not proactive, which is why they are such a bunch of **insert vulgar expletive here**, and its that very attitude that is going to cost them dearly in the future as the government will not be able to protect them forever (even though they desperately want to).

If Telkom are serious about their image and their future, the sooner the government divests the better cause until then their share price is being falsely propped up on governmental and legislative protective pillars.(not Papi's pillars of **** either).
