can someone tell me more about the actual download speed after u hit
the softcap? I am definitely considering the telkom simple plan. Do they really block video streaming sites after u go into softcap?

Telkom simple is great, until you get throttled (As you know).

If its your first ADSL setup, I would go for it! Then after a while, if you are not happy, I would switch to an ISP like Afrihost (I am recommending them as they are awesome to me simple). Basically, they never shape streaming etc only downloads and torrents when the network is busy

On AH Home Uncapped, there isnt a softcap - but rather a dynamic system which changes the shaping depending on how busy the network is
