Telkom -> Afrihost line transfer time period

Good day all,

I have a friend who is moving from a place that has no line at all to a place that has one, with telkom. The line has been under his name since the 16th this month and he has requested a transfer from Telkom to Afrihost.

To this date there has been no news regarding the transfer of his line. Does anyone know how long it takes to transfer from Telkom to Afrihost?

I remember seeing something about taking up to a month (some changes in telkom i believe) or am I wrong about that?

yea i know this....but he hasn't had any issues having the line with AH and he has been with AH before.

Im not interested in finding out if its a good idea or not. I just want to find out the normal wait time?

If done right, it would be processed with in 2 weeks. Assuming the line is active and paid for. Keeping quiet about it won't help, you have call and ask at least once a week to verify the process. I know with AH you receive an email the second they have picked up your line from the holding pool.

Has your friend requested that Telkom move his/her line into the "holding pool"? Afrihost won't be able to take the line over unless this has been done.

Once it is in the holding pool, notify Afrihost so that they can submit a request to Telkom.

Also make sure to notify Afrihost because if the line has been in the holding pool for too long then it is put on hold and your friend's internet will stop working.

Heya :)

The process usually takes around 14 days. Once Telkom confirm the line's in the holding pool we pull it from there which is the quicker part of the process.
Drop me a PM with the line number and I can check the status.
 
Mine took only a week to transfer from Telkom to AH :) That was end of February 2016
