just some positive feedback for a change on telkom and ADSL...

i've been having a bit of a unstable adsl connection at home recently but it still worked, however a bit slow sometimes. i checked with my ISP they said on their side all is fine. i decided to call telkom on Friday morning. to my suprisal they answered the call to 0800375375 within a matter of 3 seconds after i pressed 4. once i got back on my chair i asked the person to check if all is okay with my line. he asked me to hold on. after a while of "please h old on some more sir" i was told he will get back to me and he gave me a ref number. i figured oh well. and i put the phone down

after 10 minutes some oke called and asked to explain again what is wrong. he said ok. put fone down.

after 2 hours he called again asking if he can come to my house on which i said only at 5 will i be home. he said he will call at about 5. i put fone down.

4.30 he called and asked if i can please test the line and see how it works now. he would call me saturday morning to find a update and then come out if still not right. i got home at around 5 and tested it. it worked like a bomb. the entire weekend went past without a single problem.

maby i was just lucky but telkom somehow had a brilliant day on friday!! :D

(oh and now my 3gb limit has come a lot closer)

Yes, I also fell off my chair on Friday when Telkom answered 0800 456 786 on the second ring. Unfortunately they couldn't give me any good news, tho. Still waiting for 'equipment' that was meant to have been installed by 18 March.

well at least they answered quick :)

And thats whats disappointing about TelCon. They are just so inconsistent. They are, as your example pointed out, capable of providing good service, yet the majority of the time they provide bad service. (I have been waiting nearly a month to have the speed of my line upgraded and been told so many different stories from so many different people)

Good customer service does not cost a lot of money. The customer just needs to feel his/her complaint is being heard and something is being done about it within a reasonable amount of time.

I just wish TelCon could try and get the customer service side of their business right, and at least then I wouldn't always feel sick to my stomach because of their prices, just 98% of the time...

Regards

true, very true, another example. last year i had problem with my car, the lady made me feel like "i am their only customer" and even though it took longer than i hoped to sort it out, i never got upset cause they kept me updated and made me feel good about being with them, last month i went to same place, had to deal with some oke who has attitude problem, never called back never nothing, i regret going to them now and will never go again no matter how cheap they may be.

Amazed by Telkom

Well, imagine how stunned I was when I got my adsl installation in less than a week after applying. I guess sometimes they get it right.
But then, it worked for only 2 weeks and bombed for 6 days.

<sigh> Hit and miss all around, I'm afraid
