telkom and false advertising

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but in the ad that is currently on tv for Telkom's "high speed broadband internet access" there is one part where the guy is driving along and suddenly he is racing against other cars. That looks suspiciously like an online game to me and since the big T has stated time and again that adsl is "Not meant for online gaming" either the ad is pointless or they are lying to try and attract new customers. not sure which.

just an observation on my part.

I am trying to catch it on my TV tuner card, but if other peeps can help hunt it down, please do and send it to me. If it is too big to mail I will create a temporary FTP account to upload it to me should anybody get it before I can capture it...

Which channel is this on DSTV?
 
Have to agree. I would assume that it would be tantamount to false advertising.

I have only ever seen it aired in DSTV, but then again I watch no other stations.
 
I have spotted it on sabc 2. seen it three times now and usually in the 7 pm time sot or there abouts. I find it highly amusing. fiance has to give me a slap every time i see it to get me to stop laughing.

All I want to know is, does anyone think we can nail them for false advertising?

My SO laughs along with me.

Send a complaint to ASA. Once they recieve enough complaints it should make them look into it.
 
stuff telkom into the rocket and let them feel real broadband speed!!!!
 
Also, they dont mention on their adverts that ADSL is only for use by one person per household.
 
another advert which might be valid to fall within the false advertising category, is telkom's current prepaid advert :
they claim that their by making use of the network, your call is secure, yet we all know that even a nigerian standing on the corner of the main road greenpoint is able to tap lines.
If the connection is secure, what encryption are they using?
