Telkom and their shocking service

Hi

Since the October upgrades my line has deteriorated week by week, whereby up until last week sometime my actual phone had so much static in it, i thought i was being contacted by some extraterrestrial being, today i come home and its dead, i logged a call with Telkom last week to come and sort it out, but being December i can just forsee im going to be paying R600+ for basically f&*& all service. my adsl stats are shocking and the max i can down load is 0.20mbps, my Attenuation (dB): 55 downstream. and SNR Margin (dB): 11.0 downstream.

I really dont know what to do anymore, i phone Telkom more than my own mother or girlfriend, i dont have a home phone anymore and a internet service that is seeing the Mayan apocalypse quicker than myself.

How does one manage to be at home or get someone to be at your house like a parking lot security guard until Telkom pitch up

because like all of us, we work.

What are your guys suggestions to get Telkom to take action, harass them from work, threaten.. i give up :cry:
 
Was in the same boat. Spent more time on the phone with Telkom than online.

Eventually just gave up as it was no longer beneficial to my health to have a Telkom service. Informed them accordingly and asked them to remove their service. Been on mobile for the past two months. Have not had a single problem and speeds are way above what my dsl line could ever achieve at the best of times.
 
I asked for a Managers Number......got the number and have now left 3 messages for them.....no response or call.

I honestly do not know how you can get away with such Horrendous service.

I used to get a rather quick response when I complained there. Seems like complaints from there gets escalated.

Just a thought... you might want to try that as well
 
I posted on HelloPeter for my Home adsl line. Got an email response from a @telkomsa.net address and hounded that email account with requests for the entire time my dsl exchange was congested. I also got hold of the technician that does the maintenance on our DSLAM and phoned him everytime my line went bad and asked him to reset my physical port to a less congested card.

Basically long story short, i was a thorn in alot of their sales and techs side for a full 2 months. Our Exchange in Crestholme got escalated for uppgrade ahead of 2 others apparently. I know have FULL speed again.

Just persevere with them, get a number of a Telkom tech (who knows what he is doing) for information and possible help with escalation - Proper escalation as they know what problems they have with the instrumentation and equipment in the exchange housings. Get your port changed whenever you have an issue etc.

All i can say is good luck man, Telkom are a when we get to it service provider, unless you bark louder than everyone else...
