Hi,

I'm thinking of applying to a work-from-home job, that requires a 1.2mbps upload and download speed. Will a 10mbps telkom uncapped adsl/vdsl package give me those speeds? If not, can someone recommend me isp's that will be able to provide the bandwidth and speed i need?

Thanks

Unless you're able to get at least 20Mb VDSL, you won't get more than 1Mbps Upload. On 20Mb VDSL you'll likely get 2-4Mb upload speeds.

I'm in pretty much the same boat as you. To be honest, if they made a 4Mb Upload/Download symmetrical package I'd be set.

You should be able to easily get 2-4Mbps upload speed on a 20Mbps VDSL line. I am on a 40Mbps VDSL line, and I get 38.5Mbps download and 9.5Mbps upload.

The upload speed on 20Mbps VDSL is 5Mbps, unless you need a ton of data you might even consider LTE.

afaik on the 10meg option the most upload you'll get is 1

As mentioned above, on vdsl you'll get higher uploads BUT remember Telkom and their "up to" disclaimer. You could very well get VDSL and only get a 1meg upload and they'll use the "its up to 5meg upload, not guaranteed"

Assuming fibre is not an option?

LTE probably a good option... at a price.
