OK this one is not a question, more of a rant.
Has anybody called the telkom ADSL helpline recently? It takes about 3 minutes to get through the questions the autoattendant asks, one of which is the phone number the problem applies to. One would expect that would at least mean when the agent picks up the line that he would immediately have your details up, but no! He still asks for your number and you still have to wait for him to look you up - so what is the point of the (very slow speaking) autoattendent.
One time I actually got my hopes up that they were doing something good. After going through the autoattendant it told me I had a 5 minute wait, but that I could leave a number for them to call me back when I was at the front of the queue. After 5 mins the system did call me back, but all I got was a voice saying "This is Telkom calling you back but since we could not get hold of you, you will have to call us back" and then hangs up.
Telkom have spent millions on some very clever call centre equipment and all they manage to acheive with it is to cause frustration!!!
imo they should be having a very serious converstation with their call centre manager about the future of his position!!
