Yesterday I got an Automated call from Telkom (robot voice on a loop). They said they were upgrading their infrastructure and over the next 48 hours I may experience downtime.

Anyone had this before and know what they are doing?

Yes I had that call when my exchange was migrated to MSAN, It might be any part of the network being upgraded, e.g cables, local exchange street box, etc.

So if the MSAN was upgraded would I be able to go to 10mb/s from 8mb/s (even though I'm paying for 10)

Your MSAN was not upgraded.

Your service is being moved to an MSAN.

Depending on the distance between your modem and the MSAN you should get way more than 6, 8 or 10Mbps.

0.o does that mean VDSL 40mb/s possibly.

Also got the call last night, but nothing on the Telkom notice board or the SAIX one. Who knows....
