Did anyone else noticed the same?

01 October 2007 05:01 (Telkom Usage Email)
Uploaded : 1MB or [0.00GB]
Downloaded : 26MB or [0.02GB]
Combined Total : 28MB or [0.02GB]

02 October 2007 05:02 (Telkom Usage Email)
Uploaded : 80MB or [0.07GB]
Downloaded : 1.68GB
Combined Total : 1.76GB

* My normal usage is about 100 - 200 mb per day.
* Normal business usage like updating our websites etc
* On 30 September I start downloading backups of about 1,4 GB
* The multiple downloads completed on 1 October 6.30

If the total of 28MB on 1 October 5 AM was correct, then where get Telkom the 1.75 GB on 2 October unless the backup downloads was in total carried over????

(Even if the bandwidth was calculated strictly as from 1 October midnight, then it should not be more than 800MB maximum because I already started to download the backups around 8 pm on 30 september)

Did you backup downloading end before midnight on the 30th?

No, it was backups of about 300 websites so it downloaded one after another. A bit much different than a single huge backup I guess.

The downloads also aborted a few times so it was definitively also not a single session.

ok - let me rephrase - did you continue your adsl session beyond midnight?

iow did your downloading extend into the 1st of the month or had you finished everything prior to that and disconnected?

I think you are right and the problem is that my session extended into the 1 st October too. (i.e. that they calculate bandwidth per sessions and ending times thereof and not per actual bandwidth usage and times)

I've had bandwidth usage on the last day of the month carry over even after I switched off way before midnight. AFAIK there was a discussion on the forum about the problem some time ago. I've been avoiding last-day-of-the-month-bashing ever since then.

my browsing habits don't allow me to have this problem. a bit like iburst this it seems.
