Took up the 1Mbit line + free modem promotion last month and now Telkom have sent me a bill that is a complete balls up.

I am opening a dispute now, but I don't know what the one item on the invoice is referring to, if somebody knows what it means please help me out as I don't feel like trying to get an answer out of Telkom unless it's my last option.

What is the Your Line(s) portion mean? It already includes the analogue line rental and dsl line rental, what other possible thing could they be billing me for (this is not calls by the way, that is separate)? I swear I have never seen this on any of my other Telkom bills before.

You are the only one that knows the actual dates but the Line(s) portion looks like a pro-rota for the telephone line for the month of December up until you took the ADSL promotion.

That would make sense, but the line was pre-paid during this period. You think this could be a fee for converting the line? I am pretty sure I was told there was no cost involved with this though.

There should not be a cost to convert.

Again, I am not sure on the dates, but when exactly did you apply for the ADSL line? I suspect the voice line would have been converted to postpaid as soon as you applied for the special with the ADSL portion coming into effect later when that was installed and activated.

The bill looks fine except for the Your Line(s) line item which is a new one on me.

Did you already have a voice line, also, what date was the new service enabled from - 13th or 28th?

Edit - sorry, missed the double billing for Jan/Feb.

Telkom Store helped me out very quickly yesterday. Guy told me double billing happens often and logged dispute for me and said I would get refund on my next bill. Now to wait and see.
