Also, Telkom plans on increasing the cost per gigabyte it charges ISPs from R6,33 to R59. By doing so, it would attract customers to TelkomInternet SA, as the prices charged by the in-house ISP are much cheaper.

Lets see Telkom start taking on the media headon and telling them they are all talking ****, something Im sure Lulu and crew can ill afford is a full on war of words with the media.

Now hang on - if Telkom's wholesale price is R6.33/Gig, as reported by moneyweb - and ISP's want to make 150% profit - it still means we should be paying around R15/Gig - which sounds reasonable.

So where are things going wrong?

from what I read in the newspapers it seems that ONLY ISP providers OUTSIDE of TELKOM will be hardcapped. Does anyone here know whether Telkom will still be using soft cap on their own ISP offering? DOEKVOET YOU PERHAPS?

So what is Telkom's real cost per gig? I suggested R7.50 to Hellb0y (Telkom's apologist on this forum) and he told me I'm way too low. Where can we get that kind of info?

All that I know is that I have, amongst others, also a Telkomsa.net ISP account - and so far I have not been informed of any hard capping coming on 1 Nov 2005
