I can't believe I'm this bored. Anyway, for those of you wanting to explain things to the unknowing, here are some example stories:
The Sci-fi inclined:
A long time ago, in a galaxy not so far away, there was a land technologically removed from the rest of the world called Safrica. In this land, there arose an evil Pith Lord named Telkom. Telkom grew in power and with the support of the Senate became a dictator over all the land, enslaving the good people of Safrica. Telkom imposed harsh prices and even harsher measures to ensure the populace could not grow technologically and would remain a cultural backwater.
In time, a group of Safricans became aware of the terrible crimes imposed upon t hem and rose up in anger against the tyranny of the dark Lord Telkom.
Fairy Tale:
Once upon a time, there was a happy group of people known as Safricans. Safricans were known for their compassion and happiness throughout the land and had never caused another to bear them ill will.
One day, a great evil came to the Safrican land. The name of this evil was Telkom and it was great in power. This evil soon became enmeshed in the deeds of the Safrican governors and so gained more and more power. Eventually, the evil was able to declare itself to all in the land while continuing to practice dark arts. In time, the gentle Safricans were forced to accept the half-truths and evil deeds performed by Telkom and some even began to accept them as just and right.
After many years of darkness, the land brought forth a champion to fight the evil presence and free the land from oppression. The hero called to him people of like mind who would help him fight the evil and prepared himself to do a long and weary battle.
Medical
Characters:
Little Tommy, a wide-eyed, innocent and pure child
Evil Bob, a megalomaniac CEO with a penchant for heartlessness
Little Tommy enters stage right. Applause.
Little Tommy: Hi folks! I'm little Tommy and I'm on my way to get Broadband!
Evil Bob appears in a puff of crimson smoke. Assorted Boos
Evil Bob: Here we go Tommy. Here's a nice Broadband connection for only one soul a month. Easy as that.
Little Tommy: I don't know Bob... that Broadband looks a little scraggly to me. His bandwidth is a little narrow and that cap certainly doesn't look healthy. But I suppose I don't really have a choice.
Evil Bob: Damned right! Ungrateful wretch! You should be thanking me every day that I allowed you access to this technology.
Etc.
