Ok so here goes, i was at the My BB conference and they say that it makes a difference when you post your issues on here.

I reported a fault with my internet connection after them changing my profile to sync at 1mbps after my line was upgraded to 1mbps and low and behold i have never had a single day's issue with my connection until some dumba$$ call centre agent who clearly has no IT expertise or knowledge whatsoever decides to "Re-design" my port because my internet connection is not working. To noavail we end the call without success and the call is logged for a technician to troubleshoot at the exchange. this only happens 4 days later and, yes, he assured me that the problem is fixed. Ya right since when can telkom ever fix something they break!!!!psssht.

Then i log yet another call on the 6th day, call the call centre and this women who knows ***** once again says that the technician is on his way:confused: , oh yes she probably sits in Bloem inside a fowl run sending the technician in his donkey cart to my exchange in joburg.

One strange thing though is that everytime i log a call or even start dialling the useless domkom number the internet starts working until this network architect on the phone re-designs my port with freaking gold trimmings then voila! no internet for the rest of day/evening.
Yet when they need to be paid and you're 1 day late for whatever reason services are cut immediately.

Domkom, stop sending all your staff to conferences and send them on courses on "How to fix what you break" and actually deliver what you've been paid for.

Yea tell me about it, took them 9 days to send a technician around and we were pretty sure we knew what the problem was. After about 6 days and 6 calls to the call centre they escalated it and someone came the next day, fixed the line but there is no box on the pole and the technician said he would get someone to bring one, and it's being covered by a plastic packet while we wait  well it's now a week later and still no box and everytime it rains the internet goes haywire, which has been nearly everyday since he came. You have more chance of fixing the problem yourself.

@lilggg, i have the regional managers office contact number and have been waiting to use that draw card but seems i'm going to have to call him tomorrow, that way i know it gets escalated at head office level and not call centre level.

These guys know nothing about customer service.

oh and by the way the second moron i spoke to at the call centre told me that he will take my sync speed back down to 384mbps and if it works then it means i am too far from the exchange and i cannot demand something i am not paying for. when i said ok i will pay for a 4meg line then what, the monkey then cuts the call.

Yip, last time we had a problem we made sure to get the technicians number just in case, but he decided to ignore all our calls or pretend he couldn't hear anything. And the call centre is useless, most of them know absolutely nothing and will say anything to get you off the line and stop complaining, "yes we will remind the technicians", "yes i will send an urgent reminder to them", blah blah blah every time and nothing changes. Also what i've found is if you miraculously do get a technician to come and you never got your fault escalated, the technician that comes is pretty useless, they lazy and don't do a proper job. If it's escalated they seem to send a knowledgable technician. That's just from the 3 or 4 times we've had problems with our line in the last year or two.

@ MickeyD, just spoke to the manager now, and they will get onto it now.

so dunno who lied to you about them moving to pretoria.

i'll give them until this afternoon and see what happens.

Ok, so now they've downgraded my account sync to 384kbps, then its stable.
however they cannot tell me why is it a problem at 1mbps.
