Telkom changes FLLA rules

Last year Telkom was advertising their new FLLA phone services. For R199 monthly you received a free entry level cellphone or a free FLLA phone or a free router and 3000 free minutes for Telkom to Telkom landline and Telkom Mobile numbers that could be used anytime day or night. You only paid extra if you phoned other than Telkom landlines or other cellphone providers. This seemed like a good deal to me and I was quite keen to change to the FLLA deal at R199 per month.

This has changed in 2021.

Now you will pay R210 for a FLLA landline, R228 for Unlimited Evening and Weekend calls up to an hour (Telkom fixed to fixed) and then it gets even more expensive with their other FLLA deals. Their "wonderful" R228 deal is the same Closer 2 deal that I presently have on my copper landline. So Telkom has changed the rules of the game TO THEIR ADVANTAGE.

I will stick with what I have or dump Telkom altogether.

According to the Telkom website smartvoice packages are still available for Flla and start at R199pm with the 3000 min anytime. I would think you should be able to migrate to it once you are on a Flla device.....unless they changed the rules.
