Telkom client outraged by 'bad service'

August 26 2005 at 02:10PM

By Rivonia Naidu

Durban businessman Robbie Dingwall has criticised telephone giant Telkom for unsatisfactory service delivery.

Dingwall has had an ongoing battle with the company for the past 11 months over his faulty telephone line, which he says they have still not repaired.

Also a pic of Telkom's alledged professionalism (sarcasm(.

Every time I phone Telkom, I get referred to a new person and they all tell me different things. Each week, I'm promised something new."

He said that he was paying for the service and deserved a better response and faster action.

Business as usual

Looks to me like he'z in the hole, not next to the hole - oh well - humanz.

/me lovez teklom's response ... Telkom could not comment as they are still investigating the matter.

Bwwwwwwwaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahaha - burp.

Roll on the SNO.

I hope that they rae going to cope with the avalanche of business that is going to consume them when they do eventually roll out their services.

weird non-news item. Like something out've The Onion.
It must have been a slow news day down in Durban..

'Jeez, we need to fill a column space'
'What about that guy who keeps phoning us about Telkom - let's do a 'story' on him.'
"Oh ok - that'll be easy. Dig out that fax he sent us, you call him, I'll call Telkom, and we can churn out 1200 words in half an hour."
"Schweet"
and there's 'the story' :)

I mean its like a 'non news news story' if you look at its content.
I mean 'Telkom client outraged by 'bad service'' as a HEADLINE for an article?
what's next? "Housewife irritated by ill-fitting dress"
"Schoolchild angered by excessive homework"
"Shopper Outraged After Receiving Smaller Burger Than Was Advertised!"
etc etc

Non-news items are only successful if they appeal to the public.

Most people will be able to identify with that bloke in the hole - because most people have had bad service form Telkom.

"Man Receives Insufficient Change at Shop!"

"Woman Gets Parking Ticket!!"

"Parent Blames Dog For Own Farts!!"

"Button Lost Too Easily Off New Shirt, says Outraged Shopper"

"Woman Fails To Win Lotto For The 32nd Time!"

It's beyond appealing to the public - its Onion http://www.theonion.com/ territory - elevating the insanely banal to newsworthy proportions.

(the above were mine, here's some of the latest Onion headlines - its a newspaper out've the US, and a great website as well..)
"U.S. Blowjobless Rate At All-Time High"

"Dave Matthews Not That Into Himself Anymore"

"Iraq Declares Partial Law"

"Top Story: Great Strides Made By Pretty Women In The Past Year"

"New Planet Discovered 400 Light Years Away From Public's Interest"

so.. "Telkom client outraged by 'bad service'"

:)

I think he should ask them to move the hole to his new address.

Quite funny, in a "oh my g@d" kind of scary way. Imagine he moves, and after two weeks a techie arrives at his new home, and digs up the cable (at his new houes), in response to his complaints!
