I used to use mtn for internet access and it used to work out to R220 for only 350mb / month at slow gprs speeds.
then i switched to virgin at 50c/mb but endless network problems. i used to spend about R200 a month for R400mb
Now i have Closer 4 .I was on Closer 3 so for R200 more a month it's worth it and i can buy 1gig data for R70 (webafrica)
so R270 / month is R50 more than mtn with triple the data and eight times the speed. - of course no mobility - which doesnt matter too much to me anyway.
