Telkom Coverage Map

Does anyone have a clue how often Telkom updates their fixed access section of the coverage map?

Last Saturday and Sunday our POTS and DSL services were down, exchange had a bunch of vans parked outside, I being me could not resist and ask one of the technicians what's happening.

He said they were busy with a MSAN cut over.

Meaning VDSL, however the map has not been updated to reflect this.

Call Center can not upgrade me until the map is updated, Telkom Internet ran a check, and confirmed I am connected to a MSAN.

OH the joys of Telkom.

That website is much more behind for me , I noticed recently telkom coverage map updated, few months ago it stated i was limited to just 10mbps but recently it states 20mbps vdsl.

Richmond KZN.
Ixopo, Underberg, Richmond and Himeville were all cut over around the same time.
They all sit on the same Fibre Optic cable to PMB, where Richmond is the hub site for the fibre link.

Underberg already shows VDSL on the map, but not the others.

It's strange to see Telkom investing in ADSL infrastructure whereas in Durban they refuse to repair damaged copper cables.
