I Asked the lady when I requested adsl line be activated at my house to not allow Telkom be my ISP. I will choose my own ISP.

Some weeks later ( I signed up with Afrihost ) someone from telkom phones me AGAIN and asks if I don't want telkom to be my ISP. To which I reply N O.

When I look at the statements some months later I find that they have added 1 gig bundle to my account.
Why can they decide what do charge me for?

Is there any chance I can ask for a refund since we haven't recieved any login information so no data was used in the past 7 months.

Any ombudsman I can use in this regard against telkom?

Best Regards

Some closer packages come standard with a 1 gig bundle I think, you on a closer package of any kind?

None of the closer packages come with telkom accounts.. only the do packages...

lodge a complaint with ICASA. Get a lawyer... and sue their ****ing socks off.

Years of experience working at Telkom Internet (not there anymore), I can only wish you luck with that refund. Their argument will be that you *could* have used it, even though you didn't. This will be followed by an attitude akin to: "F-you, what you gonna do?! HUH!?HUH!?HUH!?"

Try 0800 500 200 and see if you have any luck.

If you where not given any access details by Telkom, then I would certainly dispute the charges

thanks for every reply in my thread

I will attempt to contact ICASA and see if they have any relevant information for me.

Otherwise I can always try Clientelle "legal wise"
Be nice, I have Legal Advice ^^

ICASA will not do anything unless you follow the Telkom dispute or refund process first.

Phone 10210 for your refund.

Phone 10210 and confirm that the reference number is correct and what the dispute has been logged as.... friendly tip!!

They gave you a *whole*entire* Gigabyte! You should be thankful; some people only get a single Megabyte!
