A while ago (sometime last year) I got a call from Telkom and was told that, as a part of some promotion, I could upgrade my 512 line to 4Mb and actually pay a few rand less (bundle line+3gig) than I was paying already (I think it was Do3). I signed up, only to find out that I am too far from the exchange for 4Mb.

The techie was kind enough to try 3, then 2, then 1Mb, which we settled on as a maximum reliable speed on my line. This was working very well, till about a week ago, when Telkom decided to randomly set my line back to 512. I logged a fault, but apparently there are no records of my line ever being at 1Mb, and they are refusing to up it.

I spoke to someone in the acc department, who has opened a query regarding this. Noone has called me yet. Anything else I can do to get my line back?

Then tell them you've been paying for 4mb and need a refund for the last year.

:)
