I saw a ad in the PC format this week with Telkom stating the following:

1.) Download the latest movies in seconds.
2.) A ADSL network in line with international trends. (4mbps)
3.) Surreal gaming experience
4.) The freedom to use any VOIP technology you choose

Now my question is who do we lodge a complaint with for firstly promoting piracy, and also for misleading customers with absolute rubbish......

they are probably reffering to legal movie downloads.
but as for the rest ... i agree ... utter trash.

Movies? Are they saying that we can pirate movies? Naughy, naughty, tsk, tsk.

Baaaaaaaahhhh... No 2 - overseas they've gone beyond that, so Telkom's falling further and further behind...

And what surreal gaming experience when all of our hard-earned dosh is going towards ADSL line rental fees and we can't afford the latest games?

As for VOIP - yeah, surrrrre... if your 4Mb line is stable and doesn't seesaw in the middle of a delicate conversation... :D but seriously, I was under the impression Teklom does some VoIP throttling...

was there any small print about needing to buy extra expensive unshapped accounts to get some of these "features"?

Has anyone fom Telkom tried downloading movies with their pathetic offerings. I have downloaded movies legally with certain pay services. But I can download two and then I hit my monthly bandwidth limit. What good is that? And don't even get me started on games. Some game demos are a few gigsin size and perfectly legal, who has the bandwidth to download those?

hahaha download movies, i stream HD TV (and they give me movies).. sorry telkom thats a thing of the past for international ppl:D :D

lol your all saying telkom are promoting illegal downloads while you all sit here writing while listening to your pirated music

downloading movies <> piracy. The net is changing. There are now sites that offer legal movie and tv show downloads. But alas, South Africans are being left behind.

They forgot to mention that you could buy two DVD's for the price of downloading one, using their pathetic TelkomISP pricing.

Yeah guys, Telkom is fighting against piracy with their pricing :) Doing the math on downloading certain media means it's cheaper to rent the DVDs or buy 'em even ;)

Thank goodness we have Telkom to give us an example of moral fibre ;)
