Telkom DSL discount

So I gave Telkom a call today (10210) to request a downgrade from 4M to a 2M line.

During this process, the lady told me that I qualify for 25% discount on my DSL line for 12 months, and told me that I'm paying R123.75 instead of R165 for the DSL for the next 12 months. She said something like not all people qualify, but they need to call in to find out and request it, and when the 12 months is expired that I just need to call again and request it to have it activated again.

After the call ended I received an SMS:
Dear MR. XXX, you will now receive a monthly discount on your product for the next 12 months. Thank you for keeping Telkom as your service provider. For enquiries please call 10210. Regards, Telkom.

First time I heard about this, so quite surprised... Just want to find out if anyone else has this? My line is with them and my ISP is with someone else, so...
 
I get this discount. I have both my line and ISP there. I get discount on both.
 
Yes, we have a whole thread about it. I'm also on the discount.

The will apply the discount to your most expensive bundled product and for most people that is their DSL line.
 
Yep, I'm on the discount as well.
R501 for a 4mb uncapped account.
All inclusive.

That is indeed a very nice discount you are getting. I wish we all knew how to qualify for this but alas most people including myself do not qualify and therefor I am paying about R500 to R522 (including weekend/evening plan) for my simple 3 "faster dsl" 10 GB capped 4Mbps account with TI.
 
I don't believe it's any big secret.
I phoned them and told them to give me the 25% discount.
The lady asked why I wanted it and I said I'd heard other ppl were getting it and that I wanted it as well.
I even told her that a discount is a discount, makes no difference as long as I get the discount.

She promptly gave me the discount, no questions asked really.
But other ppl have not had the same luck as me.
 
I have been on the line so long (40min) and have phoned on three separate occasions only to keep getting people in between the music that cannot help and then transferring me to their accounts department and then having to explain the whole thing to every person only to get to the final one telling me the same thing that I already get a discount with the simple 3 plan and there is no other discounts that can be applied to the account.
