Telkom DSL line to house

Hi guys.

I recently moved into a new complex. I found out that there are Telkom lines inside the complex and so organised for ADSL installation.

Telkom technician arrived on Monday the 23rd and came to a conclusion that there are no cables from the exchange in front of my house in the complex Street to the inside of my house.

So now I need to install a DSL cable from the road to my house through some PVC pipe. I've gotten into the roof and I've seen two PVC pipes and only one with a cable, which leads to the Intercom system and the other should contain the DSL cable.

The Telkom guy said his not allowed to thread the cable and I gave the body corporate a call and they said I should get an electrician to do the job.

Any advice on how to get started? Will this be possible to do on my own? Any help will be appreciated.

Is there a pull wire in the spare PVC pipe and how many units in your complex. ??
Normally there is a york box for like every cluster in the complex which your spare PVC pipe feeds to.
You need to establish if the units are piped for telephone cables.

Broadband connection availability is becoming a very big issue when purchasing property these days.
When I bought my house in 2011 I asked if ADSL and Wireless was available and what speeds and asked for demonstrations.
Many complexes don't allow separate Telkom cables as they have an internal wireless connection to each house and you stuck with that.

There is nothing in the pipe. They are as the Telkom guy said he has installed ADSL in some houses here but they all had a cable through the pipe into their wall.

There is luckily no wireless anywhere on the complex. Also the empty pvc pipe does lead to the Telkom connection in the road.

It's just so frustrating to not have any TV through my Roku.

I'll get a "fish tape" and use the instructions from this site: http://m.wikihow.com/Fish-Wires-Through-a-Conduit-or-Pipe

But where do I get the right cable?

No need to get under ground cable if it is going to be in a tube .
Wiring in gated communities if piped is : Main distribution point (normally at the main gate and where the underground cable from telkom is terminated) to clusters that have a york box (white box at the end of a cluster normally out side) from there it is normally tubed to individual units .

So what's the correct way to do this?
Should I buy the cable and just get Electrician to do it?
 
Just see if you can get a draw wire to the DP. (distribution point for the complex)
I see plenty of advice by people that know FA about this subject. :wtf:

Just an update.

Telkom has issued another Technician which will arrive on Monday. Before he does anything, I will explain to him the situation as anyone else at a Telkom store cant help me with the problem.

I never requested another Technician but according to Telkom, the previous guy said in His Notes that I was not Home :/

Lets see how this goes...
