TELKOM E-MAIL - PLEASE HELP

Hi

I installed the Telkom modem and the internet works - that is how I am posting here. Problem is the e-mail. I sent test mails which went out to other 3G laptop successfully. However it does not want to do incoming e-mails. The sending pc gives Undeliverable message with error: 550 Administrative prohibition. The test emails from the account setup page came through but nothing from outside. When I do the Send/Receive it goes trough the motion and gives Completed message at bottom right but no message appears.

I have smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net as SMTP and pop3.telkomsa.net as POP3.

I tried the helpdesk but had serious difficulty in hearing/understanding the person that answered th call.

Any suggestions? Please!:confused:
 
If using a Cellphone to access telkom mail you need to set the smtp.vodacom.co.za or whatever your cellphone provider gives - It only took me a few months to work his one out.
I could receive mail using telkom data but could not send.
 
Use Gmail. If you use any ISP's courtesy email account as your primary, then you're going to have a problem cancelling the account at a later stage because you won't be able to afford losing the email address linked to that account... this is a clever strategy used by most ISP's to ensure a long-term lock on their customers
