Hey,

I haver a friend who has a telkom email address like not sure exactly what the @domain is, but it's the normal telkom email account you get with your dobundle, althou this is years back 2007/8 around there.

He want's to move to a new provider like afrihost, but is it possible to archive/backup his emails and import everything in his new @afrihost domain email?

( Hope this makes sense )

If he is using outlook it'll be a matter of retaining the past file and reusing it with his afrihost account

So you could setup a pop account for him in outlook and download all his email to a pst and take it from there

IMHO POP3 won't work with read email, unless you mark everything unread.
IMAP account should work better.

I get what you guys are saying.

Basically email client ie Thunderbird.

Download all his mails back up his profile

Set up new.mail on Thunderbird. Import backed up mail

Stop using isp email accounts, every time you change isps you sit with this schite.

Get a gmail account and set it up to collect all the isp mail automatically and going forward only use gmail. You also get a 15GB mailbox!
