45gb on a Telkom Do3 account!

After last month's error (deliberate or otherwise) from Telkom in letting people exceed their caps I let my account run on a hunch they will do the same again. Finally got capped this morning after 45gb on a Do3 account.

Anyone else also found themselves exceeding their caps this month?

You got capped after only 4 days??

4MB line running torrents 24/7, easy peasy.

Hit the actual 3gb cap in 4 hours and my int bandwidth was cut for a day before it started working again, so its actually 45gb in 3 days ;)

Congrats on getting extra bandwidth...just beware Telkom will make you pay for excess usage

On local yes, but not on international, my contract is for 3gb int traffic, not my fault they cant manage their capping system.

Has this something to do with leaving the connection running. I presume you didn't log off, just helter skelter kept downloading?

There is a theory that exists that stipulates that 3GB is a large enough cap, this theory is upheld by the fact that most accounts are 3GB in size.

Now, the counter to this theory is that if you are not allowed to go over 3GB usage, then you will not, which disproves the above theory quickly.

So, perhaps Telkom is doing a proof of the pudding thing, by letting the 3GB clients use 30GB instead of 3GB, they are hoping that they will finally prove conclusively that 3GB is enough. Of course, they did not tell anybody about their little experiment.

But, now we know about it.

Or not. :p
