Can some one organise a vote or a partition.

I have no complaints with the speed of the internet at the beginning of the month. This is the time when everyone is browsing at flat out speeds on their uncapped lines. Now, if the internet is fine uncapped at the beginning of the month, WHY IS THERE A CAP? Can telkom not possibly offer a solution to those of use that dont mind a slower international rate, as long as it is uncaped. Then the so-called complainers of uncapped ADSL can have the other existing capped line to themselves to limit at 100mb per day.

I understand that telkom has to pay for data on the international line. But, surely the 0.9k international connection that I am currently getting is a bit of a waste.

I dont mind being capped if I spend a whole day downloading useless cds from the internet (legal cd's... Linux etc). Which, may I add were all downloaded locally. But, I must be able to download at least at rates faster than 56k after my cap.

At least in 24 hours I'll be uncapped again. At least maybe for a week this time. I'm over this crap 1k I get if I'm lucky. There must be a feasible solution to this problem. Any1 got any ideas?

Economicly speaking, if say for example, telkom offered a R1000 p/m (about R100 more incl. internet provider) ADSL solution that was uncapped. This would generate at current subscription levels, at least an additional R1,000,000 revenue for them.

For me, it is not so much the need for broadband... Just the fact that I am restricted that really irritates me. I am punished for using local servers.

Local is lekker.... My ass.

A formal complaint to ICASA is in the process of being compiled by Peapod...

Thanks ASF... good to hear that something is being done. Will it be a partition type complaint though? I think as a group we will have strength in numbers.[:D][:D][:D]
