TELKOM F100 FILTERS

I used my ADSL and a fax for 3 months without a filter connected. This worked perfectly. Yesterday a technician insisted I go out and buy one to get my system working properly? Besides the fact that all our local telkom shops have no stock, they also have no telephones ! You have to fax them. 4 out 5 in my area did not reply. They insist I buy at IC at R99.95 !! Do I need one at all?

It is advisable to have one, due to the fact that if you have excessive noise on the line or make a phone call your ADSL will drop. Try find one elsewhere the last price i payed was R35 but that was from a telkom shop, the ones at IC are exactly the same but they ripping it off.
