So, I logged a fault and was told my fault has been closed, issue (what issue I've not been informed of) being resolved, though it hasn't been resolved.

The SMS indicated that if problems persist I can phone or use this link to escalate it: http://www.telkom.co.za/emailcontact/escalationform.htm

When I go to that link, all I get is a server error.
500 Internal Server Error

Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.

Our landline is in connected to a different building on the property as I don't generally use the phone at all, so having to go out there to make a call is annoying for me, and I would very much prefer being able to handle this via the net on my computer. Suggestions?

*edit* Part of why I'd prefer doing this from my computer is because it's easier for me to determine whether or not the issue persists on my own computer than chase my mom off her computer to use that, without the programs and services normally running on my computer active there to monitor for issues. Mainly laziness though. Also, that service shouldn't be broken if they're directing clients to it to update on faults.

*edit2* Patience gave in, went to phone, interesting development regarding ticket in question. Meh.

Guys, you need to either private message (PM) TelkomZA on Mybroadband, Facebook or Twitter if you want them to assist you. They don't always see messages on an open forum.

Typing in capital letters is considered shouting and most people will then ignore your post.

My advice is once you have logged a fault, follow up via social media in private message. It does not help logging the same fault if the first one was not resolved as it puts you to the back of the queue again.

A bit about what happened to my line this year and my experience....

When my ADSL line was faulty earlier this year, the technician switched my "cable" to another port at the exchanged. That lasted a few days and we were back to square one. He then came to my house and replace the telephone wires and that was much better but still ADSL was slow. He then requested that I be put onto the fastpath which worked. The service was great as he always checked in with me.

About a month or 2 ago, my telephone line went dead. Telkom advised that I was not the only person affected as there was a fault at the exchanged and a cable needed replacing. Strange thing was, I still had ADSL but it was extremely slow. Two weeks later they eventually replaced the cable but my line was extremely noisey. After about a week, they finally fixed it properly... i.e. no more noise but my ADSL was slow. They kept in contact with me all the time... someone would phone me daily to check if I was satisfied. My phone line was fixed but ADSL still slow. I changed routers and used my test ISP accounts to determine the problem... the problem was with Telkom. I then messaged TelkomZA on these forums and he put me back onto Fastpath .... and I've not had any problems since then.

Good luck.
