So the last week or so my line has been really crappy, ADSL syncing at only 1mbps and the phone quality is terrible (static/ crackling sounds).
I logged a fault via Telkom's online fault logging service, within an hour I received a text message that the fault had been restored even though they did nothing.

So I logged another fault, heard nothing for a day, then this morning I get a phone call from Telkom to ask if the issue has been fixed? I tell them of course no, they haven't done anything, the lady asks for a few details on the problem then informs me she's gonna arrange for a technician. Cool. 20 minutes later and I again get a text message telling me the fault is restored!

At this point I'm not sure if a techy is actually gonna pitch still or what.. something seems broken somewhere.

Nobody is coming out, log a fault for your voice line stating it's a noisy line, don't even mention adsl/internet as they will go off in the wrong direction.

Yea, that's kinda my fear..

Will try that thanks, I guess when they see internet related problems they might be easy to brush them off as ISP issues.

I logged a call on the 11th August for our ADSL, the line drops very few minutes. Since I logged the ticket was using the online chat to get an update on the status and each time it was a different story, so on Thursday I decided just to called in and was told by the agent that the online logging of tickets is not actually working and that no one would get assigned to those tickets, so she suggested that I allow her to close the existing ticket and let her open a new ticket using a different system.

Let see what happens.

Hmm, strange. Telkom did phone me after the second ticket though, so someone is definitely seeing them. Will see what comes of the third one, though I don't expect any results over the weekend.

Took like 2 weeks but the problem was finally repaired today, took 4 fault reports... Apparently it was some main point which was affecting the whole neighbourhood.
