Can anyone instruct me on how the telkom fibre set up works?

I have posted in the ADSL section before I saw this dedicated fibre forum.

What I currently have:fibre setup2.png

What I want:

Fibre modems are usually just modems which you then connect to a router through a WAN port.

@OP why you have 2 wireless routers I've no idea, just set up your network on the new Telkom router or put the username and password into your old router

The fancy router converts the fibre to the normal copper cable, the cable connected the fancy router and the basic transmitting router needs to be connected in the LAN1 ports of both, then it should work

I'm hoping to allow the back of the house access to the internet.

At the moment the wireless router has to be balanced on a cupboard door to allow a small measure of coverage.

Yes, that would be what I would have thought.

I would have expected the fibre modem to be configured with the telkom username and password and for the the wireless modem to simply act as a dumb switch.

However, I'm not sure how to set this up.

from what I've seen the fibre plugs into a fibre modem/router in modem mode, then Ethernet into the WAN port of a wireless gateway that does the ppp authentication.

I suspect there are no wireless fibre modem/routers ?
