So I noticed, although 6 months late, that telkom increased my Fibre line price.
We are about 9 months into our contract as was supposed to be 450 per month.

Is this legal to suddenly increase costs under a contract?

What does your fibre contract terms and conditions say?
I have not read them unfortunately.
I would hope they would not have some clause in there.
Will definitely be changing providers if this is their way of doing business

Vodacom also do it as do other telecoms companies

OK. Guess standard practice for good reason I guess otherwise authorities would not allow this?

What fibre line speed?

Telkom Fibre do have a promo where you pay a lower price for say 3 months then the standard price thereafter. Simply compare your first 3 invoices and the latest one. Check the website to see if it's an "increase" ? May have been 25/25Mbps package and possibly others.

They would notify you if a change were to occur. My 2c is on promo for first x months then normal price.

Tx am going to check. Wish they would disclose that clearly.
Yes it's the 25mbps package. Although we hardly ever get those speeds lol

Their way of business is you not reading the terms and also not knowing what you signed up for?
Strange but okay

I don't have time for that unfortunately.
Many countries that is bad practices. Here it seems ok with some. Which shows your standards and inflated morality :)

This is on their site right now. Its clearly advertised as such though.
I don't think its bad practice to offer a discount for the first few months of signup and then honoring it.

But on the other hand if they did hit you with a random increase outside of that promo then they are scum just like voda and MTN, they are known to increase contract prices mid-term. That I would agree is bad practice that we just accept

Valiant effort. Pretty sure this wasn't on their 9 months ago. Anyway this is going off topic as you most likely intended.

Pretty sure this wasn't on there 9 months ago. But thanks for backing up your claim and the help.

Well i won't be using them again despite have great service from them before at another location.
Which company would you recommend then
If you're abandoning them for a price increase I think you're going to be disappointed wherever you go.

If you looking for a 25/25.. RocketNet is cheaper at R439 pm.. With no contracts, however it is area dependent and through vumatel
