I have a 20mbs/2mbs uncapped contract with Telkom since September 2019 , but from December as soon as I reach 40gb download they throttle me to 0.3/ 0.3. I have phone them numerous times holding for hours and trying to explain to the person on the phone what is happening, but the have no idea what is going on. I even wen’t into the the telkom shop twuce witch was no help. At the beginning of the month it is back to normal but now today at 40.5 gb they throttled me again. Does anyone know who I can contact next?

Sheesh, at those speeds that's not even throttling. They are disabling you.

Have a screenshot of your dashboard proving this?

If the 40Gb isn't mentioned as the FUP (Fair use Policy) in your contract for the service you have then go on Twitter an @Telkom, they will eventually attend to you once enough people see it.

I know this will not solve your issue but why o why would anyone still sign up for any service with Telkom. I do not understand this.
At the time I was looking to switch to fibre from adsl it was the easier route to stick with telkom, but it is a decision I have come to regret.

Thanks gamer16 I’m currently trying everything possible so will definitely try that as well.

Thanks coop, I sent him a message, will wait and see if he replies.

I know one of my family members just signed up with Telkom; reason?? because he got SMS from Telkom to say now his area has fibre and Openserve (Telkom) can get him connected. That is why I think there is a lot of work needed to 'educate' public about their options; it happened when ADSL was introduced after dial-up, and now with fibre. For many this is least stressful way-we know Telkom as telecoms provider (legacy of past), so if they are putting in fibre, so they can provide the connection (ISP).

Second issue, people fail to see that Fibre Line and ISP are 2 different things.

I learnt a lot by just hanging around here; majority of SA's don't know their options.

You just need to change ISP's as quickly as possible, for your sanity. Trying to "fix" this is just going to take a good chunk out of your life and yield very little if any result.
