Well today telkom where bright and early at my place i am moving into, they said there was no wire inside the house running into the box in the ground where the wire terminates, but he told me that he will make a plan, 10mins later he is back with a fish tape, and he starts trying to thread the cables through the pipes, he got pissed off because they were fill of mud and the contracts must have done a half job. So i and the other technician start using other unused lines to thread my line through to the man hole after about 2hours we get it there, so then after ward's we trying to get the wire to the house, but we only get it to the base of it. something is blocking it:( after about 8 hours we had no luck. So now i have to get my paving pulled up to check the plastic tube that is blocked.

Has anyone had an experience in this or can help in this regard, lead me in the direction how to get through that stupid pipe, we have a builder guy that helps around the house that is going to look at it on Saturday, but in case he doesn't succeed i was just wondering how else i could do it. The wires have to run through the conduit. The technician gave me his no, and said i must just call him when the wire is through and he will link it up for me, for a bottle of jack Daniels:P which i couldn't care coz he spent the entire day trying to get it in for me.

I had a much better guy... he connected the cables and then left it for me. I had to still drill a hole because I wanted the line in a different room. I drilled and hooked it up the next day.

i can do that, but the problem is the line is now outside the drive way in the man hole because the conduit is blocked that runs underground into my roof. And its the builders problem not telkom's.

Not much you can do about it. The other way to draw a wire through a pipe is with a small airpump and a fuzzy-ball-thingie attached to the wire...but thats going to work even less that fishline on a blocked pipe.

Pour some mortar cleaner into the pipe to dissolve the blockage and rinse the pipe with a hosepipe afterwards to remove the acidic mortar cleaner and flush out the rubbish.

well i am going to wait for my landlord this Saturday to resolve it, else they must just get a professional and sort it out. Thanks for input thou, thou the tube is a pvc, so i think cleaning fluids might just melt the tube itself.

Ill see, where do you get mortar cleaner from?

Any hardware store that sells paints and cement products. One product is called mortarlift. Be careful not to get it on to your clothes or yourself as it is etching. Use a funnel to pour it into the pipe to avoid a mess. This idea will only work if cement or mud is the reason for the blockage.

We had to dig up a few paved bricks as the fishtape/draw wire was too long with too many bends in the conduiting to pull it through to the kitchen. Made a cut half way and pulled it there then the rest of the way,

I stood on the kitchen counter with a large screwdriver and the draw wire wound around it and still couldn't pull it through.
