Telkom fixed-line and ADSL shocker

Is anyone surprised?

Telkom battled to keep the last mile monopoly. They screwed everyone.. well, time has come to pay the piper..

Many ADSL subscribers are now Telkom LTE subscribers.

Many ADSL subscribers are not Telkom LTE subscribers.

Exactly... alternatives are beating Telkom Adsl. When we (the people) asked for naked adsl (aka cheaper adsl) Telkom said 'FU'. Now there are many CHEAPER alternatives... and Telkom is bleeding ADSL subs.

Hence my comment of "Not Surprised". If telkom gave naked adsl (cheap adsl) and fast adsl, telkom would not have this problem. But instead they milk people...

I actually want to petition Telkom to remove those useless wires spoiling our view, hanging above our neighborhood .

It does not surprise me that they are losing fixed line customers. The ADSL lines are in an absolute pathetic condition. I used to have an ADSL line. It was 4 MB when I received it. Within a year it deteriarted to 260 kB. I still had to pay for 4 MB. Telkom is not intersted in repairing or upgrading the line. With such an attitude, they can just as well go bankrupt and die.
The repairs on their telephone lines are just as pathetic. I was without a telephone line for three months at one stage. I told them what was wrong and when I threatened with lawyers, they eventually had a telephone technician come all the way from Port Elizabeth to Pretoria to take 15 minutes to sot out the problem that I told them in the first place.
