Give to the devil what he deserves.

Yesterday I changed ISP. Whatever I tried I could not get into 10.0.0.2.

I phoned Telkom's call centre and in less than a minute I spoke to a Natalie. She assisted me patiently and realy friendly. She needed to be patient. I am not the thickest book on the shelve if it comes to computers.

After several attempts to reset the router she came to the conclusion it will be better to exchange the modem.

Telkom exchanged it with no questions asked. A later model with wifi.

Totaly in character I messed up the installation. Phoned Telkom and within a minute spoke to an operator. Helped me straight away. Got it working in no time.

For some reason I still didn't have enough and decided to keep my old ISP as well. When you get capped or whatever.

Couldn't do the setup. You know the story. Phoned Telkom and was assisted instantly with a matter I think is not really their domain.

I am truelly greatfull for their assistance yesterday.

Simple way is to set the modem/router to PPPOE (bridged) and just set in your password manually.. That way you can login to a selected ISP at a drop of a hat. (1 or 2 or 3diff ones) *it is also nice in a way that if ppl come lan, or if you have other ppl on your lan, that they don't automatically use your internet, cause u can only use it with the manual login and pass*
 
FWIW personally I've only ever had good service from Telkom's staff.
 
Well, who is getafix? Telkom rep? (just kidding) In any case, yes, truely impressive. As for me I am still waiting for a connection,and a modem to play with to get receive this kinda service.
