Hi there,

Not sure if anyone can help me. I am not very technically minded when it comes to these kind of things so please just bear with me. lol. :o

I recently got a Hauwei B315s LTE router through telkom (uncapped). everything seems to be set up correctly we have a blue light that says we are connected to wifi (I think that is what it means) the signal indicator is full. The problem is it says no internet access. we had access for like a minute and then it said no internet access again, we have tried everything and nothing seems to work, we have re-set the router back to factory settings, still didn't work, we have contacted telkom and they couldn't help over the phone, and did not understand why we don't have internet access, kept saying it should be on but it wasn't, we have also taken the router into a telkom store and they also did not know what the problem was, so they are sending a technician out which will take up to 72 hours:twisted: (Typical Telkom) is there anyone that maybe knows what the problem would be why we can not get and do not have internet access but everything else seems to be working. I would really appreciate it if someone can help.

Thanking you :)

I'd bet on the router connecting to 3G instead of LTE, in which case you won't have any throughput as the uncapped Telkom package is LTE only. I'm not near mine at the moment, but you can force the router to 4G/LTE only somewhere in the menus. Try that.

Thank you for replying. I am at work at the moment, I will try when I get home and let you know if I came right or not.;)

When I change the network settings to manual it brings up a few networks in our area including Telkom Says but won't let me register on this network. Says I am registered on the 3G network

Under 'Settings' > 'Dial Up' > 'Network Settings' is an option to set Preferred Network to 4G only.

As soon as I do that it goes red ....no connectivity

That's not great; I'd guess that'd mean that you're outside of any and all Telkom LTE coverage. You'll have to hope that you can improve the situation with a properly aimed external antenna, but I can't help with that - I haven't even bothered putting mine up.

Am is set to telkominternet...I presume that's correct

Well according to telkom we have coverage here......

APN is 'internet' only on my side, but the router should still register on the LTE network regardless...

Tried that too...bloody frustrating.... guess I will just have to wait for their technician... Thanks for all the advice
